It’s Bad Moon Rising Over Oz Day! Yey!

Robin has been so kind as to let me and Dorothy visit her awesome blog today. Hi Robin *Keira Waves*

In this version of The Wizard of Oz. The Land of Oz is nothing more than a sham—wool pulled over the eyes of young Dorothy. In reality her auntie Em sold her out for some good crops and now Dorothy is literally...in Hell.

Dorothy will be around in the coming month with tips and how to survive down under.

“Is she off her rocker?” I hear you say. Surely you can’t cook things like garlic bread or desserts on a spit in hell. Actually you can. And for those of you that don’t have a sweet tooth.

Ingredients:-

•1 French baguette or whatever you’ve got left over

•125g or 5oz butter

•2 cloves garlic

•Aluminium foil

Method:-

In a heat proof pot, warm the butter gently so that it is soft and take care not to melt it.

TIP - Soften half the butter first then if you do accidentally melt it, as I do regularly! The fire in hell gets awfully hot, you can use the heat in the melted butter to soften the other half of the butter away from any other heat.

Peel the garlic, finely chop it and mix it into the butter. Slice the bread at half inch intervals taking care to leave each slice attached to the next at the bottom and then paste the garlic butter mix into your incisions.

Wrap the whole thing in foil and toast gently over low flame for about 15 – 20 minutes turning regularly and you’ll have crisp on the outside and a wonderful garlic aroma on the inside. Do remember to turn regularly because despite the protection of the aluminum foil it is still quite easy to burn your bread on a spit in hell.

Bad Moon Rising Over Oz

Bad moon rising over Oz is a version of The Wizard of Oz like nothing you’ve ever read before... And is not for the squeamish or the weak.

Auntie Em has made a deal with the devil. She gave up her niece, Dorothy’s soul in return for a plentiful harvest. Em was smart and worked a clause into the contract… Satan could only have Dorothy’s soul in death, but she must also agree to meet the dark lord himself and shake his hand. Everything is going splendid until… A tornado strikes, killing Dorothy, hurdling her and Toto a shape-shifting Scottish terrier, into a beautiful land of happy midgets and bright flowers.

Unaware of her untimely demise or any satanic contract, she embarks on a journey through the Land of Oz, seeking the great wizard in hopes that he will return her home. As Dorothy unwittingly marches through hell, she begins to notice that nothing and no one is what it seems and there is no turning back…

There is indeed a bad moon rising over Oz.

Excerpt

The solid structure finally landed on the ground and Dorothy woke up to her vomit covered pooch licking her face. Toto turned back into a dog and she would be none the wiser. Dorothy rose from the floor where she’d been lying in a pool of her own blood. She got up very easily, due to the adrenaline pumping through her body. She went into the living room and ran out the front door, unable to believe her eyes. Stopping, she rubbed the back off her head, feeling that it was fine. Then she stuck her hands out in front of her and examined them closely. “Toto, my fingers are fine and my head feels great, which is weird, I have blood all over me.”

Dorothy heard the sound of birds chirping. Lush daisies and other fragrant arrangements extended out far as the eye could see. She heard giggling and one by one, people emerged up from the flower beds’. They were much shorter than Dorothy and had petite features. They were definitely grown adults and there was a whole legion of them. Enough to fill an entire city. Dorothy thought they were so adorable with their elf like hats with little bells that jingled when they walked.

An elegant woman came toward her. She was dressed in white and looked exactly like what Dorothy imagined an angel would look like. But she couldn’t be a soldier of God, could she? No, I am alive. I can’t be dead, can I? “Is this heaven?” Dorothy blurted.

The angelic woman and the little people couldn’t contain their hysterical laughter. “No, this is definitely not heaven. But you are a hero, Miss Dorothy.”

“A hero?”

“You saved us. You killed the evil Witch of the East and you have freed our people, so it’s only right that you have her shoes.” The woman dressed in white explained.

“I can’t take her shoes, it wouldn’t be right, and how do I even know if they will fit?”

“They are magical shoes. Look at the way the rubies shimmer in the sunlight. Those shoes are the only thing you have to save you!” The woman said as she waved her magic wand and the shoes lifted off. “I actually brought them for you, but she stole them.”

The woman in white didn’t explain, but she was referring to the most powerful witch to ever live. She practiced the darkest of magic’s and even now in death, she ruled by the side of the dark one. When her heart was set on something or someone, she couldn’t be stopped and she wanted Dorothy’s soul for her master.

“Those shoes don’t look very comfortable. Don’t you have another pair in the house?” A little man with bright green hair inquired. “You have a very long journey home.”

“I can go home?” Dorothy squealed.

“Yes, you can. Now go, change into something comfortable,” he explained. What was left of Dorothy’s welcoming committee, were pushing the front of their hands forward, motioning her to go change her blood stained attire.

Dorothy returned wearing a charming knee length, blue and white cotton dress, including a red bonnet that matched her shoes. Her hat was the same color, but didn’t have the sparkle the shoes had.

A very petite, almost pretty munchkin walked up to Dorothy. “You look very nice, but why are you in such a pretty dress and fancy shoes?”

“I wanted to look nice for my family when I get back home, and besides, my feet feel wonderful.”

The little woman proceeded to try to pull the shoes off her feet, but Dorothy jumped back. “You don’t touch those,” she snapped.

“But you must go to the city of Emeralds and ask to see the great wizard. He will help you get home, but it’s a long journey,” the small woman explained.

“How do I find this Emerald place?” Dorothy couldn’t wait to get home.

“You must follow the yellow brick road.” The group of small ones replied smiling. Their hats jingled as they disappeared back into the flowers.

Dorothy looked down and the road before her appeared to be bricks made of pure gold, traced with silver grout. A little bluebird landed on her shoulder and sang a cute song. Dorothy crooked her finger at Toto, picked up her basket that housed her lunch and they set out on their journey.

As Dorothy walked away, unbeknownst to her, the flowers turned to ash, the munchkins turned to little demons with ugly, red faces. The road behind her was paved with broken bones, crushed human skulls and the sun turned to black.

Keira Kroft has been and done many things in her life. She went to paramedic school and received a degree in vet assistance, She has also been a secretary and a bartender. Nothing seemed to fit except her insatiable lust for brooding “hotties”, romance, and the written word.

These days she can be found writing novels with the help of her furry friends, Scamper, and Sawyer. Sawyer helps by sitting on the keyboard while Scamper tries to steal Keira’s food. Complete synopsis

Inamorata is the first Novel in the “One Bloody Night Series”.

They are supposed to be low key and get their nightly fix from a bag. But what if they could spend a cozy evening eating an old fashioned meal and then when they were done they would simply set the place on fire and walk away—no one would be the wiser?

That’s the plan when a group of rogue Vampires has poisoned the entire security staff at a Christmas Eve party at a mall in Chicago and proceed to take over for the evening and feast upon their own kind of tradition, four house keepers, a maintenance man, a girl who lives in the mall, a lonely late night worker and a couple who have escaped to the department store where she works so their spouses wouldn’t be privy to their affair and some other delightfully unexpected guests.

Everything goes exactly as they expected until the group leader Lucius Sturdevant, and second oldest Vampire to date, realizes that the woman that lives in the Comic book store that is trying to figure out how to kill him is the reincarnation of Laura, the love of his life, that died in his arms of old age, because he didn’t have the heart to turn her.

Robin has been so kind as to let me and my hot fireman visit her awesome blog today.

Single mother Corey Nolan thinks that her life has made a turn for the better, when she meets three handsome firemen from Chicago’s engine 25. Until her daughter’s life is threatened and someone tries to burn Corey and her family alive.

Corey is a bartender and would like to share the following drink recipe with you.

750 mls southern comfort

12 ozs lemonade concentrate (thawed)

12 ozs orange juice concentrate (thawed)

2 liters of sprite

2 pints of Rainbow sherbet

Place all the ingredients in a large punch bowl. It stays cold for quite a while.

Jake the fireman shares this safety tip.

Make sure all family members know what to do in the event of a fire. Draw a floor plan with at least two ways of escaping every room. Make a drawing for each floor. Dimensions do not need to be correct. Make sure the plan shows important details: stairs, hallways and windows that can be used as fire escape routes.

Test windows and doors—do they open easy enough? Are they wide enough? Or tall enough?

Choose a safe meeting place outside the house.

Practice alerting other members. It is a good idea to keep a bell and flashlight in each bedroom.

The first Chapter of Glow in the Dark

Prologue

The doorway stood empty. The entire corridor appeared abandoned, except for the occasional nurse scurrying by, even that was very far and few between.

Please God, please.

Corey Nolan surveyed her languid five-year old. One minute she had been fine—in the blink of an eye she was here, hooked up to a ventilator to help her breathe, a tube stuck up her nose, another one down her throat and a needle jammed in her tiny hand. The cuff on her arm wrapped around to check her blood pressure periodically. A gray plastic clip clamped to her tiny finger measured her oxygen levels.

Please, Molly needs to wake up.

She wasn’t sure that imploring a higher power would work. But it didn’t make one bit of difference; she was willing to try anything. Whatever it took, anything she had to do… it would be done.

Corey released her hands from their prayer position, and slowly stood up from the orange plastic chair, moving her head from side to side until her neck cracked. Her muscles were tight from sitting half the night in the chilly room. The neatly molded corners and freshly waxed taupe-colored floor, with scattered orange triangles and lack of curtains or any homey touches whatsoever, gave the room an unfriendly aura. The large round clock adhered to the wall revealed that it was after nine in the morning already.

Where was her mother? What could be keeping her? Added fear and anxiety was not something she wanted to deal with right now. Her heart pounded as she glanced at her daughter once again. Strength and positive thinking was what Molly needed right now. Corey couldn’t afford to break down.

Molly was so sweet, innocent, and trusting. Corey would have done anything to protect her. It was too late. She couldn’t protect Molly just like her parents couldn’t protect her. She stifled a sob.

Trudging to the other side of the room, she laid a hand against the locker that passed for a closet. The cold metal beneath the gray paint gave her a chill. Images of the man that had made her life unbearable for everyone she loved swarmed in her vision. His face appeared in her head, laughing at her, tormenting her.

“Go away!” she screamed.

Slowly, she turned toward the hall wondering if anyone had heard. They would have probably thought she was crazy. They’d take one look at her and lock her up, maybe throw the key away. If any stranger witnessed her outburst, they would not have understood what the last year had been like for her—for all her loved ones.

Corey threw another glance at her daughter. Her tirade didn’t breed any response from a comatose Molly, or any of the staff for that matter.

Jerking the door open, she grabbed the blanket and clutched it to her chest, willing the tension away. She needed to stay sane, in control—anything to help her daughter. Composing herself and releasing her tight grip, she shook the blanket open as she walked over to Molly. She then tucked her daughter in tight and read her a story, just as she had done every night for five years. Except now, it wasn’t dark outside and Molly wasn’t tucked safe in her own bed. She’d been told it was good to read to patients in a coma. Halfway through The Cat in the Hat, her eyes brimmed with despair, and she couldn’t make out the rest of the words.

“I love you,” she whispered, her voice cracking. She set the book aside and stroked Molly’s hair. The usual silkiness was dull and luster-lacking. Smoothing a stray strand, she drew away and straightened. Her daughter’s pale face didn’t move. No twitch of her eyes, no quirk of her mouth, no flutter of her lips when she breathed out during sleep.

“Stay strong, Corey.” The words said out loud didn’t help. She should have been telling Molly to be brave, but her own strength was trickling away with every hour Molly lay silent.

Desperation formed a knot in her throat. Needing a minute away to pull herself back together, she whirled around quickly, almost knocking a vase over, but catching it before it shattered to the floor—just as her nerves threatened to do. Corey could barely put it back on the bureau in one piece, her hands trembling. Stifling the sob that threatened to erupt, she bolted to the bathroom.

She stood in front of the sink and stared into the mirror. Leaning in, she pulled the taunt skin under her eyes downward. The dark circles looked terrible along with the black streak marks over her skin. If Jake could see her now, he probably wouldn’t think she was all that great of a catch. Damn, how embarrassing am I with all this soot on my face, my arms, and my clothes?

“Who cares right now?” she mumbled, and then marched back to her daughter’s bedside. She plopped down into the chair and gently placed Molly’s IV-ed hand into hers. Careful not cause her daughter any more pain, she gripped those tiny, precious fingers. “I don’t know what I can do? I can tell you that I will love you—for always. You breathe a special life into the large part of my heart. If you go away, it will die.” Emotion choked her. She sobbed, unable to hold it in any longer.

She didn’t know how much time had passed. Deep breaths were the only thing that could calm her at this point. With her free hand, she pulled out her cell phone and pressed a number on the keypad. Placing the phone to her ear, she kept her gaze on Molly; her serene expression brought another rush of tension to Corey’s chest. She breathed harder, trying to control the uneasy pacing of her heart.

“I am trying your grandmother again. She is late as usual.”

Molly continued to lay unmoving. Corey bit her lip as the ringing sounded through the device. Come on, Mom, where are you? I need you. This isn’t like you. Faith Nolan was still not picking up.

Corey dropped the phone onto the bureau and stood up, anger surging through her. With arms stretched out, she glared at the ceiling. “Is this my punishment, you tell me? Yes, you—that thing, that being I assume is watching over us, protecting us. Ha! That day I was told by my doctor that my heart was too weak to carry Molly—” She fell to her knees. “I did it anyway. So, this is it, my penance, right?”

Crawling to Molly’s bedside, Corey gripped her baby’s small fingers. “I won’t let you take her, I won’t.”

Good morning, my good friend, Robin. How are you today? You do such an awesome job blogging and your blog looks awesome. I am gathering ideas for my own blog, would you mind answering some questions?

Robin: No not at all.

Keira: Where do you get your blogging ideas from?

Robin: Pretty much from everywhere and everything I do. One could call me a bit scrambled…LOL

Keira: Where did you come up with the idea to use book covers to decorate your blog?

Robin: I started adding book covers before I became published and it just grew. Now I do it not only to promote my fellow authors but to dress my blog up with all of their extremely hot covers!

Keira: Where do you find such cool background ideas?

Robin: I search through the blogger templates but I have a friend named, Savannah Rayne that is sharing some new site for me to look into. I really like the dark look, not so much gothic, but dark fantasy. I think it fits my style of writing. Flowers and Butterflies would not work…LOL

Keira: How long have you had a blog?

Robin: Since ’08 I believe…but I still don’t have a clue about how to use half of it. ; )

Keira: Which do you prefer, your static website or your blog?

Robin: My blog hands down. My website has had technical problems forever so I just sort of ignore it. I’ll create a personal book site one day, but right now…I just dig hangin’ on my blog.

Keira: What blog do you visit the most?

Robin: I have two and they are every day of the work week. The Herald and Hugs and Nightmare.

Keira: Tell us about your favorite Robin Renee Ray Book.

Robin: It may not be good to some to have a “favorite” that we should love our babies equally…LOL But, I adore my Bloodbreeders series. It is a long five book story of the walk of one woman’s life in the world of darkness. One that goes from what she thinks is love to deceit, into torture then escape. Then the need to go back for revenge. And then of course, there will come the necessity to seek others and set them free from the demented ways of the creatures that my main character was forced into becoming. It keeps going from there. My favorite thing is the first five books do not come into the now time…but I am thinking about writing a book six?

Keira: May I share my favorite Keira Kroft Book?

Robin: Absolutely! I would love that.

Ever since I was a little girl I have had a thing about vampires and immortality. I am writing a trilogy about a vampire that is a product of demonic curse. Lucius Sturdevant is Spanish Royalty and can live forever. What could be the downside of that? Losing the love of your life to death is defiantly number one on Lucius’s list. He hides and broods, until one day…

I will be back on Wednesday with the details of my favorite book that hasn’t been released yet.

Look for: Seeking Others...Lies Beneath London...and...The Elders

I am working on the thoughts of continuing this series into books 6 and 7...plus I am writing two swing books off of this series, that will be about two of the main characters, Jacob and the main male character Martin (Marteen) Lebrun...The Bloodbreeder who turned Renee Crocker's world upside down, no matter how good his intentions. His love took all meaning for his black heart, before he knew what it might do to her very human, warm beating heart that could easily be taken by those who would do anything to take her away from him...once they found out that he had finally, after 200 years, chosen to take that very special mate...as in turning his first normal and bringing her over into a darkness that he himself, hated!

Not one of these books are for the faint of heart. Each one is filled with my love for graphic, be it violence in nature or gore found in dark horror. Though, you will find humor, heart-felt emotions, a sadness that will touch the hardest soul, and the common bond found among those who have been pushed aside by normality.

The whole series is just one long running book...where one leaves off the other begins, in the continued journey of Renee's adventure into the world of darkness. And the first five books are nowhere near the 'now time' that we know and live in. It doesn't step out of the 30's and 40's and will not unless I write that 6th manuscript. ;)

It is indeed a very long love story, a true romance! One where the heart has time to search not only physically, but mentally the facts of the situation that surrounds those involved. However, it may take a while for my lovers, creator and created to find the other after the horrible things that have taken place in book one. Not to mention all the lies that Renee finds out when she returns to Cuba, her worse nightmare, at the time, to take revenge on the perversion, and torment that she not only witnessed but lived through.

Bloodbreeders truly are the New Kids on the block. The word Vampire will not be found in the first five books of my series. But it may show up in book 6, as my crew of Bloodbreeders find out where the Myth of Man came up with the word to begin with and how it is that they fit into the whole scheme of things. Have to read the series to find the rest out. ;)

Action filled that overflows the rim of reality. The sun without a doubt will take a Bloodbreeder and turn them to true ash. Blood is the only thing that they can consume, and it is a necessity of survival. Without it, they can starve to death. My babies are so different from what the world is used to seeing and reading about, it will take a few books in the series to gain that understanding. I love that they do not heal at the blink of an eye, or move before that blink can be completed. I wanted them as human as they could possibly be, and still keep them creatures of the night. No mist, no flying...they can die much easier than other fanged beings known to the readers of our world.

They are truly my children....My Babies! Those who have read the first two books have said that they can tell that I have a strong bond with the beings in my read. Even if I am a different writer who doesn't always see it fit to allow my babies to all survive the battles that WILL be found in each and every book. I still love them all!!!

Sharing the world of the Bloodbreeders...

Hi guys, I just wanna talk a little about my Bloodbreeders now that book 2 has been released. Those who have read Living in Darkness already know that Renee Crocker is just farm girl and all is happening back in 1936 to 38. She is brought over to the dark world by a "man" that she couldn't keep her eyes off of, but who only seemed to come around after the sun had set. I won't spoil it for those who may want to read it, but that world crashes right down into the grave her family stood around in Burkett Texas when her twist in reality went all to hell and back again. She separates from her maker soon after she wakes a new being, only to find herself in a place a sane person could not comprehend. But she manages to get out of that agony with the help of the few that had no choice but to stay behind...behind in the same torturous nightmare that had taken everything, even what she felt was left of what little human life she had. So much so that she goes back for a little payback...book two, The Revenge.

The reason I love my Bloodbreeders so very much is because there is so much more to this series than meets the eye. You will not find the word Vampire anywhere until my crew of breeders come across a black and white movie, in book six. A book I have recently decided to write. Their kind go back before man had the knowledge to draw hieroglyphics on cave walls and all myths of every creature comes from some truth. Bits and pieces will be told throughout the series about those that are called the Elders and Ancient Ones, leading the readers to that very idea that the Bloodbreeders came along long before man came up with the name Vampire. While adding many fictional things to sale more books then later, movies.

Bloodbreeders do not fly nor turn to mist. They cannot scale a wall like spider man, or move faster than the eye can see. Nope, they are just ten times more than they were before they became beings that walked in the world of darkness. The sun does burn them to dust and blood is the only thing they can intake to survive, but it can be any blood…not just human. And yes, they have fangs. That’s why I made this series more about the creatures of the myths then those who are swamped in a world of day walkers. Yet, they do have a few eyes and ears to help them on the long journey in the span of this series. It only takes a small nip to gain a follower that Breeders call, Normals.

The whole series is filled with adventure and massive battle scenes, all the while wrapped in the knowledge that there is a romance laying in wait. I hope all that read these books enjoy them even just a little as much as I loved writing them. To me, the characters are as real as the people in the next room.

What made you get into the publishing business?

Dawn: Love for the written word and wanting to help other writers.

Where did the idea of Glow in the Dark derive from?

Dawn: I lived near a firehouse and one day I thought what if one of these handsome firemen—a hero, wasn’t what he seemed. What if he did more harm than good?

Is that how it played out?

Dawn: Now that would be a spoiler, so I‘ll never tell.

What is next for author Keira Kroft and can you share a little with us?

Dawn: Thank you so much for asking. I am so excited like a kid in candy store. The first book in my One Bloody Night series, Inamorata is being released July 27, 2012. I just started working on a series, about a male and a female homicide detectives both from different big cities and banished to the simple life of Marysville, Ohio. Their stories and struggles will evolve over time and they will solve mysteries of course. I also have a zombie trilogy in the works. I can’t wait to finish.

Can you share a bit of what you are working on right now?

Savannah: I’d love to! Although I have several books I’m currently writing, the one that I am most excited about at the moment and working on every chance I get, is a Fantasy story titled Words of an Angel. If you like Romance, this story will have that! It is in the early stages of writing, but I’m hoping to have a completed manuscript very soon : )

Where do you find all of those typo‘s for Typo Tuesday‘s on your blog…I had to ask?

Savannah: LOL…I can’t tell you that! Seriously though, I just click around on the internet until I find something that seems to fit for the week. You’d be surprise where some of my inspiration comes from.

Where did When it Leaves come from?

Savannah: The characters are loosely based on my son Steven and his best friend since kindergarten, KC. Both boys were turning 25 in 2011, and I like to put a few little things from my real world that family and friends will recognize when they read my books. The idea for When It Leaves came to me when I was remembering my children when they were young, playing in leaf piles. And a story was born! As you know, I love taking seemingly innocent things and make them kind of creepy : )

I wanted to leave (no pun intended, lol) my reader’s with something that will have them thinking about my story the next time they see leaves blowing gentley in the breeze.

Edward McKeown:

Have you always been into the world of Sci-Fi?

Edward: Yes, I am an SF fan since I first discovered a dusty copy of Andre Norton’s Stargate in the ancient library of Alexandria Bay off the St. Lawrence Seaway. After that came Jack Sutton’s the Beyond and a raft of other Norton, Heinlien and Asimov’s works. Star Trek burst on my consciousness and from there I never wavered in my love of SF & F. I am a fan of Tolkien, Howard and Lewis as well.

How do you come up with your character’s names?

Edward: Its’ the subject of intense thought though they usually bubble up from my unconscious. The characters names are vital to me and I have never changed one once it was set. No more than I would change the name of any friend I have. My characters has an inner reality to me so I guess it is less that I come up with their names than that I learn them.

Do you have anything in the works at this time and can you share a little with us?

Edward: Dawn is reading through Fearful Symmetry the sequel to Was Once a Hero. Beyond Fearful is Points of Departure. There is also a Shasti Rainhell stand alone called, Hidden Stars so look for more books to follow!!

Currently I am writing a series on an Maauro, a 50,000 year old combat android from a disappeared species, discovered on an ancient base by Wrik Trigardt, a disgraced military pilot. It’s a story of the redemptive power of the friendship that develops between these two. Maauro, because I am a Japanese anime fan patterned herself after one of the images on Wrik’s computer, the sort of big-eyed anime character we are all familiar with. Wrik passes her off as a human mutation with varying degrees of success as they battle both the government and the Thieves Guild as they seek to remain free.

Edward’s Riddle: 32 white cows all in a stall, along comes a red one and licks them all.

Carol and Tom Phipps:

How is it like working side by side with your spouse?

Carol: It is great! It’s like we are going on this fantastic adventure together.

Tom: It is. That’s exactly how I would put it.

Are either of you writing a project on your own and if so can you share a little with us?

Carol: I did start expanding The Misfit Vampire into a complete novel, but I have been so busy lately that I’m afraid it has been put on the back burner for the time being. I do, eventually plan to finish it, though.

Tom: I have no inclination to do any creative writing on my own.

What is the best…and worst part of partner writing?

Carol: The best part is the shared adventure. We not only get to write about it, but also talk about it and it becomes this whole incredible experience. You can’t believe how real and alive the story and characters become. The worst part is that Tom is still teaching and it limits how much we can write together.

Tom: It is indeed a shared adventure, so much so that I’m afraid that there’s little else that I can add. But it is completely absorbing. I’d rather not do anything else.

Ellen Mckinney:

I hear you have a new release about to come out, can you share that with us?

Ellen: The title is Private Honor. The story centers on Dallas Police Captain Nash Brody. He suffers a traumatic career ending injury. When a close friend is murdered he is compelled to pursue the case on his own. It becomes a matter of private honor for him to solve the crime. A chance meeting and Nash Brody landed his dream job as a private investigator. It is a second career that takes him on an incredible journey of self-awareness and revere.

How long have you been writing, Ellen?

Ellen: Since 1989 while watching an interview of published author Scott Turow on his book Presumed Innocent my husband encouraged me to write a mystery novel, he said he thought I would be good at it since I love to watch and read mysteries. I sat down at the computer and my fingers took off.

Do you have anything in the works and can you tell us a little about it?

Ellen: I have several projects I am writing a sequel to Private Honor. I am collaborating on a novel with my good friend, fellow poet and author TC McKinney coincidently we have the same last name. And I have a couple of anthologies I’ve been invited to collaborate on.

Ellen’s riddle: At night they come without being fetched. By day they are lost without being stolen. What are they? Has Been Won!!!

Christie Silvers:

As a mother of three, how do you find the time to be a full time novelist?

Christie: I wonder the exact same thing on a daily basis. LOL! Actually it's a bit easier now than it was when the girls were younger. Now that my baby is a big 7 year old and they are all in school during the day, it's easier for me to get most of my writing done during the work week. I have the freedom to give them my full attention when they are home and work when they aren't.

Is there going to be another issue in the Liz baker series?

Christie: Oh yes, of course! Liz has so many stories left to tell. I have the ideas worked out for at least two more novels, with notes on several more in my trusty red notebook.

Are you working on anything at this time and can you share a little with us?

Christie: At this time I'm working on a short Liz story that I'll be sharing on my website for all the Liz fans. This is just a little goodie to give my readers. It touches on the life of Liz Baker's kind elderly neighbor, MaryAnne Patterson.

In addition, I'm preparing for a conference/book fair in Lumberton, NC on February 25th. As soon as I'm home from that I'll be starting book 4 in the Liz Baker series.

Your new release looks amazing, can you tell us a little about it?

DeAnna: Thank you Robin! A Million Wishes is about a woman who had a really rough childhood and she’s doing her best to overcome and move on from it. Instead of dwelling on her painful past she decides she’d rather live a selfless life with her husband and 3 adopted kids and help other peoples wishes come true.

Do you have anything in the works that you can share with us?

DeAnna: Yes! I’ve just started writing book 2 in the series. It’s called Reflecting On Wishes and it’s about Dakota, the first young man Mikayla and Noah (from book 1) adopted.

What made you start a blog and how do you find the time to do it all?

DeAnna: I love to write and meet new people. I had been reading several blogs for a while so I thought I would join in the fun January 1^st and giving blogging a try. So far, I love it, although it keeps me really busy! I try to schedule my blogs for the week on the previous weekend. It helps to keep it organized!

DeAnna’s riddle: I need oxygen even though I don’t take a breath.

Robin R. Longley:

When did you first start writing?

Robin: I first started writing poetry around the age of 18, and had four poems published by the age of 25. I had always wanted to be a writer, just never gave it any more thought after getting married, having children, and a nursing career for 16 years. I wrote my first short story in 2010 after receiving encouragement from a dear friend of mine who happens to be a very good writer and continues to be a best friend, as well as family. ;)

Can you tell us a little about the book you have out now?

Robin: Forever Lost started out as one short story, "Their Trap", (which was published thanks to my friend), and I added the other two later to complete the book which is the only one I have out so far. "Their Trap" is mostly a true story of my brother and I visiting a cemetery one evening. One of the stories was an idea of my Mom's, "Guardian of the Swamp", so I was determined to make a story out of it for her. The other, "Forever Lost", came from my own strange little mind. :)

What do you have in the works right now and can you share a little with us?

Robin: I'm working on two stories right now, hopefully one will turn out to be my first novel. Strangely enough, they are both ideas from dreams my husband had, and told me about. One will probably be a paranormal romance, and the other horror. It will be my first attempt at horror, so hopefully it will turn out well!

Your cover is the bomb…can you tease us with a few words about Blood and Lilies? You can send me the spoilers later. ;) Just kiddin’ y’all.

Lyn: Thank you Robin. I love the cover as well. Dara England is amazing!

Blood and Lilies is a journey about a girl named Cara, who finds herself in the middle of a war between heaven and hell, and that she is plays an important part in it. Vampyres are hunting her; the children of the Nephilim are trying to protect her, and she is overwhelmed by the discovery of a whole supernatural world that she never knew existed.

Can you tell us about the projects that you are working on now?

Lyn: Of course! I have a few. Book two for Blood and Lilies is in process, with possibly a third coming too. I’m also working on a few other books that I mustered up recently.

When did you start your walk into the world of being a wordsmith?

Lyn: I'm not really sure exactly when I started. As for writing novels, this only started a few years ago. But being a wordsmith...well, I guess since I could write. But I'm not done learning to be a master wordsmith... :)

Patrick Royal:

What is it like having 8 little one running around?

Patrick: When they were young, it was extremely hectic. Let me advise you to stay on schedule because that's the only way you can get things finished.

Will you share a little about your up and coming new release, Shattered?

Patrick: It was a novella I wrote and self-published in 2008. This was the first book I had ever self-published so, I rewrote it in a completely different style and doubled it in word size, and Hellfire Publishing contracted it. It's about Tom Elliot moving to the country for different scenery. He got more than he bargained for when the very characters he creates haunts him and drive him to insanity.

Do you have anything new in the works and if so can you share a bit with us?

Patrick: Yes, I always have something in the works. Let's face it, you're only as good as your last project. I'm working on the sequel to Mind Shadows: SHATTERED, "TAINTED". This takes off where SHATTERED left off.

Can you tell us a little about the anthology story that you’re in with Hellfire Publishing?

Jen : Well this is Vampire love story slash killer one all the same. You’ll have to read the tale of Scotty and how he messed up and what he does to reclaim his sanity for yourself. I hope all who read this gritty Vampire tale enjoy it they don’t glitter.

Do you have any project in the works and can you tells us a little about it?

Jen : I have several things going on at once, Legends is due out soon as a lot of you at Hellfire are probably aware so I have been working on the sequel book to it, Legends Second Coming. And I have been working on another I might deem dark fantasy as well called Atonia Into the Gates of Hell, and numerous shorter stories and a poetry anthology due out soon.

Would you mind sharing your editing business with us and what it entails?

Jen : This is something you and I, Robin, have in common. I do some work for a few smaller publishers and I am also freelance in this field. That extra set of eyes can prove very valuable.

Christie Silvers was born on January 17, 1977 and is the oldest of three children.
She was a child obsessed with books. You never caught her without a book in her hands. Christie excelled as a student, with multiple awards for high academics throughout her school years.

Christie has always loved books and the written language. She devours every book that crosses her path and begs for more. However, it wasn't until the age of 29 that she discovered her love of writing. She started out with web content articles before making her way on to a short, humorous parenting book (Toddler Logic: 50 Things That Your Toddler Wants You to Know).

After that, she decided to jump into a genre that she has always been in love with: the paranormal! That's when A Midnight Infatuation was born. It was soon followed by A Birth at Dawn and A Twilight Abduction--all in the Alex & Fiona series.

Christie has numerous projects in the works and has declared that she has enough book ideas to last her for several years to come. It appears that there will be many more paranormal novels in her future. Here's hoping that imagination never wanes.

I happen to like his better half anyway. He makes a great sandwich.
Now Rick's pissed at me, Chad's looking as smoking hot as ever, and I have a handful of staff, friends, and my new high-class lawyer helping out...but will I be ready when Cole comes knocking at the front gate?

Saddled with the knowledge that she's not only a half-vampire, but also expected to be some kind of supernatural warrior to battle evil, Liz Baker--34 year old small town bar owner--would rather life went back to normal, choosing to ignore her destiny instead.

My personal review...in part...of this series:

Killer Intentions, is bookthree in the Liz Baker series and it was over the top, outstanding. ChristieSilvers has done it again, only this time she has added a new character thathas brought on a new thrill to this reader. From book one I found a fondnesswith the bouncer known as Chad, better known to me as ‘The Chad’. While in bookone, Liz was in a not romantic “love affair” with Rick, I had my eye on thishottie named Chad. Rick and Liz had been friends for years and he was there forher when she found out certain things that put her world on a spin that had herliving on the edge of disbelief. She had lost a very important part of herlife. Her mother had passed some years before that. She was being sought out bya very handsome vampire, who had more than one agenda by getting her rightwhere he wanted her. And the whole time all that Liz wanted was to live anormal life, running her bar and being as happy as life would allow.

By book two she knew her lifewould never be what she thought it would be. She now knew the man who walkedthe nights was not who he said he was and had to take measure that took whatlittle life he had, finding out an even darker secret about who she really was.Another secret that she found out her deceased mother had kept from her. Amother who now was showing up from the other side when Liz called out to her,or so she thought that was why she was popping in at the time. And it was nowChad that had step forward, making his feeling known. Liz met a whole new crewof people when her dear friend died, leaving everything they owned to her. Sheno longer had to worry about the financial side of things in life, but with theinheritance also came along the beings that knew what Liz held deep inside, andthose beings wanted more than she was willing to share.

Now that several had beenlaid to rest at the hands of Liz and her new powers…the powers that came tolife when she was exposed to certain things in the estate she had inherited.Which I would say more, but that would mean me giving too much away and that Ijust cannot do. ;) Liz finds out thatshe has just hit the tip of the iceberg to what is yet to come where her poweris concerned, and the one who has been after her from the very beginning hascome to handle things himself….bringing with him a group that Liz will findherself battles her own thoughts and will to take even one of their lives.

Book three left me wantingmore so bad that it’s hard waiting for that fourth book to come out! I know whois after Liz and I know who the group is that Liz finds it to be almostunbelievable to even think about and even harder to think that she may have tokill them to save herself. I love that she and Chad are madly in love and wishI could tell you where they stand in their relationship….but that you will haveto find out by reading this series yourself. Not even you will believe theculprit behind Liz’s misery…or why he wants her so badly! What I can tell you is that the Liz Bakerseries is the best series that I have read in a very long time and it hasturned me into Christie Silvers Number One Fan!!!

Christie Silvers has written so much more than just the Liz Baker series and is continuing to create worlds from spicy romance and paranormal suspense but she is also becoming a well known International Author with the books she has perviously publsihed in the USA.

I have interviewed her multiple times and had the pleasure of getting to know Ms. Silvers several years ago when I first stepped into the world of being a novelist. She gave me the advice that I needed to push forward and I will forever be grateful. “There’s Gigor,” Fenaday said. The sun cleared the horizon and its rays lit the tops of trees and buildings, leaving the field still cloaked in purple shadow. He heard Shasti’s seat creak as she leaned forward to look beyond the backrest of his seat. Fenaday put the Wildcat in a slow circle at a height of four hundred meters. Shasti and he looked out at the devastated base. Gigor base extended for tens of kilometers. The beige and yellow Enshari buildings in the distance had the squat and unlovely utilitarian look favored by governments. Beyond them, toward the city proper lay the domes and half-domes preferred by the Enshari. Shattered glass in those buildings splintered and threw back the sunlight.
“Looks worse than it did from orbit,” she said.
“Yeah,” Fenaday said. “No question that the base was attacked. By what I can’t imagine, the pattern of destruction doesn’t resemble that from an airburst nuclear weapon. Nothing else I know of—not even a mass driver—creates destruction like this.”
“Only a few military spaceships were based at Gigor,” Shasti said. “Most Navy traffic used the port at the capital city of Barjan.”
Fenaday pointed. “There’s the Navy area. It’s completely destroyed.” They had seen all this from orbit, but it lacked the effect of viewing it with their own eyes.
“Notice something?” asked Shasti.
“Yeah,” Fenaday replied. “Those shuttles on the apron look like they were cut down by a laser fired from ground level. See that neat slice on the metal of that green and white hospital shuttle? It’s cut almost in half. Whatever it was started striking the ground at a low angle, bubbling the apron.”
“Energy weapons don’t work that way,” Shasti said. “Why use massive quantities of power to cut metal when a kinetic weapon does it cheaper and faster? Lasers are for burning flesh, starting fires and damaging sensitive instruments—-”
“These are a few of your favorite things,” Fenaday murmured.
Shasti ignored the comment, “Well, this isn’t Conchirri work. If they had energy weapons like this, we would all be dinner.”
Fenaday brought the Wildcat to a hover near the edge of the apron close to the barracks. The sun had risen enough to light the field. A brilliant, dark-blue ground cover, reminiscent of pansies, dotted some of the nearby tarmac.
“Let’s get this over with,” he said tightly. “Are you ready, Shasti?”
“Locked and loaded,” she said, putting her tri-auto in her lap.
“Telisan, this is Fenaday. I’m going in. Keep circling. If anything happens, run for it. That is an order.”

I am venturing into the world of self publishing starting with my first romance novel in March, "A Million Wishes" which is the first of four books planned for my "Wishes" series. The series I'm currently working on is romance but eventually I want to branch out into other genre's like paranormal. I love all things that go bump in the night especially vampires and werewolves.

I have enjoyed writing since I was very young, starting out by writing poetry and songs. When I was just a child, my sister and I would take turns each night making up stories to tell each other before going to sleep. I take after my Dad when it comes to an active imagination, he used to spin some tall tales, so good in fact, you never knew if he was being truthful or just making it up! Trust me, I used to fall for his stories all the time. I grew up thinking I was Wapatootie Indian. Yeah, I believed it even though it's not even an indian tribe, he was just THAT good at make believe! LOL!

I am the baby of 5 kids in my family and a little something unique about me is I was born on Friday the 13th! We grew up on a farm in Newalla Oklahoma until I was 13 years old and we moved to Kansas City Missouri. At the age of 21 I met my amazing husband Marty at a gas station, he came out and pumped my gas even though he was the mechanic there and we've been inseperable since. We now live in Oklahoma City with our cat Spanky.

Jake slid his fingers down her arm and across her wrist. Aspark lit through her. She gasped and her gaze locked with his. She made noattempt to draw away. Corey couldn’t…she didn’t want to.

Corey couldn’t conjure up a response. What he said, and howhe said it, turned her knees to jelly. She felt like the high school girl whowas just noticed by the popular jock. She couldn’t stop staring at his soft,dark brown eyes, even though a sensible voice in her head told her to just walkaway and forget him.

“I’m very sorry. But I really have to go.” She peekedaround his massive chest to the men beyond. “It was so nice meeting you guys,”she called over, waving. She turned to pick up her bike, then pushed it alongand hopped on.

“Stop by anytime,” she heard Jake yell behind her.

She smiled but didn’t turn around. Glancing at her watch,she’d realized she was supposed to have started her first day of work eightminutes ago. Fear made her petal faster.

The intact housefinally landed on the ground. Dorothy awoke to her vomit-covered pooch lickingher face. Toto had turned back into a dog, and she would be none the wiser.Dorothy rose from the floor, where she’d been lying in a pool of her own blood.She got up very easily due to the adrenaline pumping through her body. She wentinto the living room and ran out the front door, unable to believe hereyes.

Stopping, sherubbed the back off her head, feeling that it was fine. Then she stuck herhands out in front of her and examined them closely. “Toto, my fingers are fineand my head feels great; but that’s weird, I have blood all over me.”

Dorothy heard thesound of birds chirping. Lush daisies and other fragrant arrangements extended outfar as the eye could see. She heard giggling, and one by one, people emerged upfrom the flower beds. They were much shorter than Dorothy, and had petitefeatures. Although these people were small, they were definitely grown adults.There was a whole legion of them, enough to fill an entire city. Dorothythought they were so adorable. Their elf-like hats had little bells on themthat jingled when they walked.

An elegant womancame towards her. She was dressed in white and looked exactly like what Dorothyimagined an angel would look like. But she couldn’t be a soldier of God, couldshe? No, I am alive. I can’t be dead, can I? “Is this heaven?” Dorothy blurted.

Theangelic–looking woman and the little people couldn’t contain their hystericallaughter. “No, this is definitely not heaven. But you are a hero, MissDorothy.”

“A hero?”

“You saved us. Youkilled the evil Witch of the East and you have freed our people, so it’s onlyright that you have her shoes,” the woman dressed in white explained.

“I can’t take hershoes, it wouldn’t be right. How do I even know if they will fit?”

“They are magicalshoes. Look at the way the rubies shimmer in the sunlight. Those shoes are theonly thing you have to save you!” The woman said as she waved her magic wand,and the shoes lifted off. “I had actually brought them for you, but she stolethem.”

The woman in whitedidn’t explain, but she was referring to the most powerful witch to ever live.She practiced the darkest of magic. Even in death, she ruled by the side of thedark one. When the witch’s heart was set on something or someone, she couldn’tbe stopped; and she wanted Dorothy’s soul for her master.

“Those shoes don’tlook very comfortable. Don’t you have another pair in the house?” a little manwith bright green hair inquired. “You have a very long journey home.”

“I can go home?”Dorothy squealed.

“Yes, you can. Nowgo, change into something comfortable,” he explained. What was left ofDorothy’s welcoming committee were pushing the front of their hands forward,motioning her to go change her blood stained attire.

Dorothy returnedwearing a charming knee length blue and white cotton dress, including a redbonnet that matched her shoes. Even though her hat was the same color, itdidn’t have the sparkle the shoes had.

A very petite,almost pretty munchkin walked up to Dorothy. “You look very nice, but why areyou in such a pretty dress and fancy shoes?”

“I wanted to looknice for my family when I get back home. Besides, my feet feel wonderful.”

The little womanproceeded to try to pull the shoes off her feet, but Dorothy jumped back. “Youdon’t touch those,” she snapped.

“But you must go tothe city of Emeralds and ask to see the great wizard. He will help you gethome, but it’s a long journey,” the small woman explained.

“How do I find thisEmerald place?” Dorothy couldn’t wait to get home.

“You must followthe yellow brick road.” The group of small ones replied by smiling. Their hatsjingled as they disappeared back into the flowers.

Dorothy lookeddown. The road before her appeared to be bricks made of pure gold, traced withsilver grout. A little bluebird landed on her shoulder and sang a cute song.Dorothy crooked her finger at Toto, picked up her basket that housed her lunch,and they set out on their journey.

As Dorothy walkedaway, unbeknownst to her, the flowers turned to ash, and the munchkins hadturned into little demons with ugly, red faces. The road behind her was nowpaved with broken bones and crushed human skulls. The sun had turned to black.

Excerpt from book one: Living in Darkness

When I awoke, the four of them were in what seemed to be a heavy discussion. I could tell it was about Martin and me, because the instant they noticed I was awake, the conversation stopped and they all turned my direction.
“Oh, you’re awake. How does your arm feel?” Rebecca asked.
“It’s better, thank you. Um, is there a problem?” I asked, looking from her to the men.
“No, everything is fine. We just had a small disagreement, it’s nothing to worry yourself about,” she said.

I didn’t know what was going on, but I wasn’t about to ask in the presence of the three men. I just wanted to be gone from here. I knew Martin was already looking for me, I could feel it. Even if he wasn’t I knew it wouldn’t be long until he was.

“So, where do we go from here? Did ya’ll find a car?” I asked.

“Yes,” Rebecca answered. “Ronny has one ready outside.”

“Then can we leave? He’s looking for me, I know it,” I said.

Omar looked at Rebecca and gave her a small smile, one you wouldn’t notice unless you were looking straight at him. I didn’t try to question his antics; I just got up and started for the stairs. I didn’t have any intention of having a conversation with the likes of Omar, even if I did want to know what that little smirk was all about. He made my skin crawl the first time he opened his mouth, and has had my nerves on edge ever since.

We all loaded in the vehicle, and traveled throughout the night, stopping only to steal gas. No one spoke much, though Rebecca asked how I was several times. Along our way, we found abandoned houses to seek refuge from the day, even staying in a cramped little crypt in a rundown cemetery. We were usually crowded, but once the sun came up, it didn’t really matter where we slept. The days and nights passed uneventfully. On the fourth night as we were huddled in a dank cellar, the pain in my stomach returned with a vengeance.

“She needs to feed. We don’t need her weak,” Omar told Rebecca.

“No!” I cried out. “I won’t hurt another person, I can’t.”

Omar opened his mouth as if to say something, but Rebecca grabbed his arm.

“We will teach her to feed without taking life. That is Martin’s way, not ours,” she said looking at me. “We can show you how to survive without causing harm to a normal. Even animals can serve us well.”

I thought about it for a moment before agreeing. “Ok, then I’ll feed. I don’t want to slow us down, and give that bastard a chance to catch up. I would rather die than go back with him,” I said.

I knew that was only part truth. Despite everything, I missed him, or at least some part of me did. The other part wanted his neck hanging from a noose. I could still feel the kiss…our last kiss. How could I have been so stupid? How could I have thought it was real? Just another of his tricks, I told myself. The neigh of a goat brought me back to reality. I looked up the cellar stairs to see Ronny and Marcos peering down with a brown and white goat between them.

“Anyone ready for breakfast?” Marcos laughed.

The rest of us made our way up, and when we surfaced, Ronny pulled out a blade like I had never seen. “What are you going to do with that?” I asked.

“It’s better to get the blood flowing than trying to bite,” he winked. “They‘re to dirty for my taste, if you get my meaning.”

“Oh, I see...”

“I prefer the blood of a normal,” Omar interrupted. “This is beneath me,” he said disgustedly.

“Shut up, Omar,” Rebecca demanded angrily. “You know this is our way now.”

Omar puffed out his chest, but didn’t say another word. It was obvious he had more to say, but her look stopped him before he could open his mouth. Instead, he clenched his jaws, and left the room. Marcos, with a tin cup in hand, looked to Ronny who then sliced through the goat’s throat. The gurgling noises that followed were enough to make me want to leave the room as well, but I stayed where I was.

Marcos filled the cup to the top and handed it to me.

“Ladies first,” he said.

I took it, sloshing the blood causing it to run down the side of the cup and over my fingers. I licked my lips and reluctantly took a sip. The taste was wonderful. I gulped down the viscous fluid, trying not to leave a single drop. The pain was gone the moment the blood hit my stomach. I handed Marcos the cup and greedily licked my fingers clean, as I thanked them in-between the very un-lady like spectacle. When everyone had, had their share, we were off again.

“We will reach the ocean sometime tonight,” Rebecca said. “Then the real journey will begin.”

Just thought of a short horror read for Valentine's

Being that I love writing in the horror genre with my short stories and have seen every Valentine horror movie to be seen. I think I will put my mind at creating something the Holiday of Hearts filled with candy and flowers on long stems, hasn't had fun with yet. To me the best thing about being a novelist is that you can create anything you want. Interview Robin, Savannah and Dawn

Hi, thisis Dawn Binkley owner of Hellfire Publishing. I wanted to spend Friday the 13^th,one of my favorite dayswith all of you. I chose a very specialinterview. A three way with Jen Hart, Robin Renee Ray and I.

Ms. Raywrote a horror short entitled After Hoursin which my assistant (among other things) and I are soul stealing she-demons.

A little secret back story. I have always teased the writer’s to do things my way, orI would get them with my ruler. My little sliver of polished wood has since grownand has a sharp blade that shoots out the side and some other cool features. Myassistant Jen needed a weapon too, so that she could assist in my fauxdiscipline duties, lol. Her weapon of choice…a staple gun. Did Robin pay theprice of turning us into she-demons? I’ll never tell :) Jen: I don’t know nothing; never gotany memo. Oh and Dawn, I forgot to tell you that the paper shredder is workingfine now :)

Dawn:Hello, Robin and Jen how are youlovely ladies today?

Robin’s response: I am doing absolutely wonderful.

Jen’s response: Good Morning, Demon Momma! I’m doingsuper good, thanks for asking me to stop by for this little three-some.

Robin's response: Three-some!!! Hum, might have to write that in some where...just saying..LOL

Dawn: Robin can you share a short synopsiswith us?

Robin’s response: Sure.

Day after monotonous day, Jen went about her daily routine as a bluecollar robot until one day she was bitten by a She-demon risen from the darkestdepths of Hell. Dazzled by her new found evening activities, she comes to findthat there is always a catch…she must take the life of innocents as well as thescumbags of the earth, then and only then, would she become the Right-HandDemon to her new Queen. But will the strands of her humanity keep her caughtbetween the two worlds forever? Or will she become one of the earth’s mostpowerful, feared beings…after hours?

Dawn:Well Robin I have to start with whatfirst inspired you to take an idea such as this and bring it too life. Whatmade you choose to write that particular story?

Robin’s response: Well, if the truth be told, it wasmeeting the two of you and falling head over heels into a lifelong friendship.I know turning you both into flesh eating, soul stealing demons might not makeit seem so, but that’s where After Hours came to life. Not because I think thetwo of you are demons, but because I think you guys are two of the coolest andcraziest people I have ever met. And I have a love-hate thing with yourdiscipline tools…LOL

Dawn’s response: So just to be clear, friends becomekillers in your books and enemies…die? LOL

Robin's response: Oh yeah..LOL

(Jen smiles a wicked grin)

Dawn: I personally love being portrayed asan evil she-demon and think it’s areal life prediction, lol. Jen, what do you think of us being portrayed as ashe-demon and her protégé?

Jen’s response: I have to tell you, I love it! Robinturned us into the total opposite of our real selves (**stop laughing you two,they’re gonna hear you and I’m trying to be discreet here**)…Although some mayargue that point, most know we’re really sweet, very helpful and understanding(**oh good lord Robin, please cover Dawn’s mouth with a pillow**)…and we wouldnever, ever hurt anyone (fingers crossed behind my back) And, Robin let the Jencharacter be one sexy vixen :)

Robin's response: Alright Jen, if I put a pillow over Dawn's mouth I willget the ruler and we don't want the ruler coming out!

(Jen rolls her eyes)

Dawn’s response: Oh yeah, right, what she said. It’sjust a story. A piece of fiction. Okay Jen I will shut up now. You can stopjamming staples in my side!

Dawn:What possessed you to possess Jen andI? Why us and not another HP member?

Robin’s response: Because no one else has everthreatened to beat me with desk equipment. ; ) It was the only way I couldthink of to pay you two back without actually getting that beating…LOL

Dawn’s response: Well played. If that doesn’t soundevil I don’t know what does. Perhaps you should write yourself in the next one.That would be uber cool!

Robin's response: Hummmm???

Dawn: I can relate to the she-demonsreliance on her protégé doing her job and their friendship. Jen is thereanything about your character that you can relate to?

Jen’s response: Wow, I’d have to write my own book toanswer that! Seriously though, as Robin describes in her book, Dawn and Jen arevery close friends and Dawn trusts her with every aspect as far as work goes.Jen puts in long hours and is very loyal to her master—I mean boss, yep, I’dsay Robin is correct in the research she did, LOL

Dawn’s response: Whatever! Blah, blah, blah…whine,whine. Don’t make me get the ruler out! LOL. I sincerely hope somebody proofread this, because you know my fingers can’t spell.

Robin's response: Don't look at me Dawn, Jen's my editor..LOL My fingerscan't sepll either.

Jen's response: See, my work is never done!

Dawn: I adore Robin’s style and heart, youcan feel her love for the characters and how she just lets them be free, andshe’s not buttoned down which you see a lot in books. Jen your Robin’s editor.What do you think of Robin’s writing?

Jen’s response: From an editor’s stand point, Robin isa dream to work with. She’s very professional and gets things back to me rightaway. On the rare occasion, if she disagrees with a suggestion she will explainwhy…sometimes the reader (editor) can misperceive the way something isintended. The only real problem I have had, is I get so caught up in the story,I sometimes forget I’m working…then Ihave to go back again and edit it, LOL. Robin’s stories are always solid andwell written, as I said, she’s very professional.

Dawn’s response: I know you have read to far withoutediting, a couple of times, no joke. But I think professional is the key wordhere. Robin is extremely professional and keeps her self well informed in thelogistics of publishing, marketing and writing.

Jen's response: Oh, I so agree. And those ideas...where does she come up with them and...

Robin's response: Hello, I'm setting right here. *Blush* Thanks guys!

Dawn: I am elated to announce that there isa sequel in the works, of which we will share a bit of at the end of thisinterview, as well as bit of After Hours.So will there be a third part?

Robin’s response: Oh yeah, and maybe even a fourth. Youcan’t kill these two she-demons that easy, and the more I write about them themore their world grows in my mind. The character Dawn in the running story hasbeen on earth’s realm for a very long time which you will see in the teaser.

Dawn’s response: I know. I look so awesome for beingover a century old.

Robin's response: Absolutely, my demons don't age, baby!

Dawn: I like that After Hours is wellwritten, intriguing, and has a twist. Jen what do you like most about thisstory?

Jen’s response: Hmmm, large staple gun, a tortureroom, killing, stiletto heels and I still get to work for you…need I say more?

Dawn’s response: Well if Publishing doesn’t work out,we will have to sell our souls then. At least I feel secure knowing that wehave a retirement plan, lol :)

Jen's response: Retirement plan? Is that something else you're going to want me to proof read?

Robin's response: LMBO

Dawn: Robin, I love the name After Hours Delight, where did that namecome from?

Robin’s response: *Snicker* This may be a bit of aspoiler but Jen, as we all know from book one, likes her sexual time…now thatshe’s a demon she feels she needs a mate, and at this time that is all that Ican say. ; )

Dawn’s response: LOL *very true* LOL

Jen's response: Seriously guys, I told you that crap about having problems with my Twitter when I was drunk! I can't help it that I need more practice. Really, I never thought it would end up in a book.

Dawn: I would like to see my Dawn do a lotmore killing in the future. Jen is there something in particular; you wouldlike to see your character do in the sequel to After Hours?

Jen’s response: I think Jen needs a pet! Not just anyold pet, I want one of Robin’s hotties! :) I promise to walk him, feed him,give him a bath, pet him often, oh and he can sleep at the foot of my bed too!

Dawn’s response: That’s right because she-demons canbe very nurturing, but we don’t snuggle.

Dawn: Was there any outside sources thatwere the inspiration for either book, something you did or somewhere you havebeen perhaps?

Robin’s response: LOL…You working at the Comic bookstore and Jen setting doing her editing job. The title After Hours just poppedinto my head and the story rolled right out. A few hours later it was complete.

Dawn’s response: Were you scared of what I would dowhen you were writing it? LOL

Robin's response: Not of you, just the ruler. LOL

Dawn: What is After Hours Delight about?

Robin’s response: It’s about the two of you with Barryand Helen, two of the demon helpers that have been with you Dawn for over ahundred earth years and the ones in book one, leaving the city and going to ahome in the country by a small town where you, Dawn, had lived in an estate backin the 1800’s. Those who read the first story know that Jen had killed adetective and it seems too many began asking questions. So, it was time for anew start, so to speak. There will be more blood, but also more fun in thebedroom. ; p

Dawn: Jen is there something you would liketo say on the subject of After Hours or Robin Renee Ray, before we say goodbye?

Jen’s response: Robin, I am very flattered that youthought enough of me to put me in one of your stories. It’s a lot of fun to tellpeople that the character Jen is based on me! However, I won’t be putting thaton my résumé any time soon for obvious reasons. You’re talent as a writer issuperb and I recommend you to everyone who asks me if I’ve "read any good bookslately." It is a pleasure to work with you; you make it a lot of fun! Now…aboutthat pet—I’ll be in touch so we can discuss the perfect pedigree :)

Dawn’s response: You don’t have time for pets, getback to work! LOL

Jen's response: I'm not scared of you, you know. Santa gave me a new bigger, badder and shinier staple gun for Christmas!

Robin's response: I am so cracking up!!! You are most welcome, Jen and whoknows...you may just get that pet in book two????

Dawn: Robin, can you leave us with someparting thoughts, before we delve into the teasers below?

Robin’s response: Just that I am so blessed to havesuch wonderful friends that allow me to write and turn them into creatures thatdo horrid things and in book two have some amazing erotic fun, before they usetheir playmates for a warm meal…LOL

Dawn:All playing aside, I am honored that Robin chose me and Jen for this rockinstory. I would absolutely love it, even if it wasn’t about me. And in spite ofit, lol J

Robin's response: The honor was all mine Dawn, this is now and will always be my favorite mini series because I have the two of you as my main characters. Big Hugs to you both~

Hereis a teaser from After Hours

His face contorted and the sting waslike molting lava on the curve of her waist. Jen groaned, holding the screamthat would have placed the blade deep into her body. He would stab and then runaway. “That’s a warning of what I’ll do to you if you are fucking with me inany way what so ever.”

“Iwouldn’t do that. I just want to give you what you want then hopefully help youto go on your way,” Jen said, doing everything she could to calm him down.

Helaid his arm over her shoulder and turned her toward the building and pretendedto kiss her as a young couple walked briskly by. The street lights flickeredand the man jerked at the shoulders. “Your car. Now.” Jen swallowed even thoughher mouth was dry, and started walking toward the parking garage across thestreet. She stuck her hand in her purse to get her keys and he slammed his fistinto her face. Jen hit the ground hard. He kneeled down and quickly rummagedthrough her things then yanked her to her feet.

“Youdidn’t have to do that, I was just getting my keys.”

“Women,”he pulled her over to the wall of the entrance and glanced both ways beforedashing through the opening with her in tow. “Never stick your hand intosomething. Next time, I’ll kill ya.” He said the last so close to her face shecould see the white cataract on his left eye.

Teaserfrom: After Hours Delight

The dank smell of time past was thefirst thing to hit her sensitive nose, followed by the faint scent of staleblood. It was then that the aroma of gasoline filled the air, over powering theother scents. Soon after, the sound of a loud motor came to life causing theoverhead light to flicker to life. “Oh my goodness, this is like an old horrormovie,” Jen observed as she made her way around the torture device that stillheld the remains of an extremely aged carcass.

“Homesweet home,” Dawn cooed, running her hand along the leg bone that was tethereddown to an oblong stone table. “He was the yard man when I first bought thisplace back in eighteen seventy five.”

“Yousure were a busy girl.” Jen’s brows wrinkled as she bent down to look at a headsoaking in a jar of clear fluid. “And who was this?”

“Thebutler and not a very good one I might add. I thought I would be able to keepthe help, but you know how nosy some humans can be.”

“Thisone tried to court her.” Helen leaned down and kissed the skull of a beinghanging from shackles on the web covered, stone wall. “She favored him so wecouldn’t eat him.”

“Ithad nothing to do with that. I was actually thinking about making him amate. I found out that he wasn’t into my‘other side’ and professed he would take his own head if I dared try to bringhim over. So, I left him down here in hopes he would change his mind.”

“Didhe?” Jen blurted out. “Sorry, stupid question.” She blushed.

“Forgetthis nonsense; I want to show you, your new home. All of this will be cleanedout, all but the butler’s head that is. I kind of like the way he looks.”

“Dawn?”Jen stepped up to walk up the stairs beside her.

“Yes?”

“Wereyou really going to turn that man into your mate?”

“Nowdon’t go getting any ideas, Jeanette.”

“I’veasked you to stop calling me that. Only my mother calls me Jeanette, or she useto before she passed away, and she only did that when she was upset with me.Now, why not get the idea of having a mate? I have a very high sex drive, youknow.”

“Itold…”

“AndI told you. I am not having sex with a short, wart covered twerp like Barry. Nooffence, Barry,” Jen looked back, half smiling, half frowning.

“Right…nonetaken.” He looked over at Helen with a frown of his own.

“Ican remember when you were nothing but hot for him.”

“Ah,yeah, when I thought he was a yummy, human. Had he been my type of demon wemight have a different story here. Are there any demons like me out there?”

“Onlythe two of us can create a demon male like yourself, but he has to be willingafter he has been infected with death. If he refuses, you might as well havehim for dinner or he will be waist hanging on the wall.” Dawn stopped and tooka deep breath. “Can we please talk about this after we’ve had time to at leastsettle in?”

“Justknow we will be having this conversation again.”

Dawnshook her head then pulled a set of keys out of the hand bag. Once the skeletalkey was in the lock she turned and smiled at Helen and Barry, then over at Jenwho up to this point hadn’t been very impressed. Well, she did enjoy the siteof the head in the jar. The door opened and Jen’s jaw damn near hit the floor.Antique furniture filled the round foyer that held a horseshoe shaped staircasethat had the biggest chandelier that she had ever seen. The marble table in themiddle of the room had a crystal vase on its center with dry, dead, flowersthat draped over the sides. Still, it was marvelous.

Therewas a curved, chest high table at the base of the staircase, placed between thetwo entrances that led to the upper floor. It was made of a rich, dark wood andwas covered in dusty photos of Dawn and people Jen didn’t recognize. The twohigh-back chairs on each side of the table looked like something out of themedieval times. Both were solid wood with brass lion heads for hand rests.

“Wantto look at this floor first or go check out the bedrooms?” Dawn asked seeingthe smile on Jen’s face.

“Youcould have told me about this place, ya know. I wouldn’t have acted like a bratfor the last three days. This place is amazing.”

“Iwanted you to be surprised.”
